Will the Next Big Energy Play in Texas be Solar? Here Today Huge Tomorrow?

DALLAS, Nov. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Since the discovery of oil at Spindletop, the energy industry has played a dominant role politically and economically in Texas. The North Texas metropolitan area is the sixth largest economic center in the U.S. while Dallas is home to the third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the nation. Is it possible that Dallas' next Fortune 500 Company could be in the solar energy industry? Paula Mints, Founder and Chief Market Research Analyst, Paula Mints Solar PV Market Research explores the possibilities for solar expansion at a luncheon hosted by Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association, (TREIA) December 4th at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel.
Mints provides classic market research products based on primary research and focused on the supply and demand sides of the solar industry and its technologies.  She publishes often with Renewable Energy World and Renewable Energy Focus.  Recently her chapter, Overview of Photovoltaic Production, Markets and Perspectives, was published in the Fraunhofer/Elsevier book Advances in Photovoltaics Volume 1, edited by Dr. Gerhard Willeke and Dr. Eicke Weber. Mints recently said, "Difficult markets require gumption and creativity – assets that are inherent to Texas.  What the rest of US solar can teach Texas is only part of the story – what Texas solar can teach the rest of the US and how these lessons will help ensure a healthy US solar market for all participants, now that's worth learning about." Paula Mints began her solar market research career in 1997 with Strategies Unlimited.  She joined Navigant in 2005 where she continued her practice until October 2012, when she founded SPV Market Research.
Additional details regarding TREIA's luncheon is at the organization's website, www.treia.org. The luncheon is sponsored by Axium Solar and other Texas companies.
